Winter in Zell am See-Kaprun
Winter camping holidays at Panorama Camp Zell am See
We are located in the heart of this holiday region. Surrounded by the imposing summits of the Hohe Tauern range, Zell am See-Kaprun boasts magical Alpine panoramas. Snuggled up against the shores of the Zeller See, the region offers perfect conditions for your winter holiday. Due to the nearby mountains and variety-packed countryside, there is something here sure to appeal to each and every winter sports fan. Enjoy winter in Salzburger Land in all its glory, no matter whether you are snowshoeing or alpine- or cross-country skiing.
The range of winter sports is enormous. Skiers and snowboarders are bound to find what they are looking for in the three different ski areas. On the Schmittenhöhe, Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel, over 130 kilometers of pistes are just waiting to be explored. And whenever you need to warm up for a while, many different mountain huts invite you to stop in for refreshments, including a toasty mug of hot punch and a selection of delicious regional specialties.
If you are in the mood to explore our mountain world away from the pistes, the clearly marked ski-touring routes make it possible to experience nature to the full. Enjoy the peaceful climb up the mountainside, followed by the pure excitement of skiing back down. Even in the valley, our guests can look forward to no end of sporting activities. Many perfectly maintained cross-country trails (for classic and “skating” technique) invite you to enjoy a workout in the fresh mountain air. But whether you prefer to push yourself or take your time, the views will always be breathtaking. During a winter hike on snowshoes, you can discover pristine nature and see the countryside from a whole new perspective.
Families can go ice skating on the frozen waters of the Zeller See or at an indoor ice rink, feeling that they have landed in a true winter paradise. The sledding hills in the region promise all kinds of fun, as you slither and slide at exhilarating speeds from the top of the mountain back to the valley below. Of course, aside from the wide variety of sporting highlights, we also host many very special events. Enjoy roasted chestnuts and hot punch at the Advent market or marvel at the spectacular tricks performed by skiers during the weekly freestyle show.
In Zell am See-Kaprun in Salzburger Land, families, children, couples and singles of all ages discover their own personal piece of heaven and recreation amid the boundless variety of our Alpine world. Who knew that winter camping could be this much fun!
